Alo Diet
Eating and living a healthy lifestyle

Self published a book in 2006 in print and online. Has been republished all over the world in multiple languages up until 2017. Has been rebranded and rewritten. The Alo Diet is a totally free diet for everyone to read and enjoy. It’s completely free and requires no subscription, no fees, no registration and can be read in it’s entirety online. 1990-present
Editor in Chief and CEO
Paintball Times

Have been the Editor in Chief of Paintball Times since it was a print newsletter that was distributed to local paintball fields and shops around the midwest. In 1993 we went online and grew to a behemoth. Only one other paintball website was online back then. We now receive over 5.5 million monthly visitors, are ranked among the top 20,000 most visited pages online, and have a growing staff. I no longer write articles on a routine basis for Paintball Times, my writing staff does that. But now I login to edit and approve articles. Can be found online at: www.PaintballTimes.com

2005-present
Editor in Chief
Football Times

Due to the enormous success of Paintball Times, I decided to branch out into a more mainstream sport, and a sport that I have played and loved since I was 10 years old. I knew a ton about football and had written about football strategy for many years. I decided that I should finally put together a publication about the sport I love. Football Times is not about professional football or college football, there is no way I can keep up with the multitude of news websites that have billions in resources dedicated to news gathering and publishing, so I decided to target a different audience; the everyday backyard and playground football player. Not the professional player, but the recreational player. Similar to what Paintball Times aims to accomplish.

Football Times contains many articles on playing backyard football, plays you can use, strategies, staying safe and a lot more. We are already paying writers for content and articles and we should see continued growth. can be found online at: www.FootballTimes.org

Research:

During College
Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio.

Pathology Department with Dr. Gunning. The project I was working on aims to evaluate the use of transgenic mice to assess the lymphomagenic activity of pesticides and pesticide/fertilizer mixtures. There is an apparent epidemiological association with increased incidence of leukemia and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma for herbicides. There is sufficient evidence for carcinogenic activity for a number of pesticides in experimental animals to have warranted the EPA to restrict and or ban their use, but the association of pesticides with increased risk for lymphomagenisis has not been evaluated in laboratory animals. I am aiming to evaluate these mice for lymphomagenic and/or skin tumor promoting activity from these pesticides.

Post Graduate Research/Masters Program
Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio.

Physiology Department with Dr. Joana Chakraborty. Studied HIV and AIDS and research the quantity and depth of knowledge that the Arab American community had on the subject.

Also researched the murine HIV virus equivalent, TS1, which only one other lab in the nation was studying. We studied vertical and horizontal transmission.

Post Graduate Research/Master’s Program
Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio.

Surgery Department with Dr. Juan Sanabria. Researched liver transplants in rats. Varied the storage solution, used pegylated-Albumin, and other variables to find a better storage solution than the current UW solution. Used an isolated rat liver perfusion model. Used microsurgical techniques to perform over 1800 microvascular surgeries on rats. Had an abstract published:

Methoxypolyethylene Glycol Modified-Albumin Enhanced the Cold Preservation Properties of UW Solution in Liver Grafts.

Awards

2006
Arnold P. Goldman Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award

This award is usually awarded for excellence in medical teaching and for being a great mentor. I received this award back when I was a first year Internal Medicine resident. I spent countless hours volunteer teaching and spending time teaching at the bedside, table rounds, formal lectures, and informal discussions. Teaching is a passion of mine, and I’ve taken it to the next level putting all my lectures and talk on YouTube.

2002-present
Dr. Alo has received countless teaching, philanthropy, service, and volunteer work awards.

Hobbies

Dr. Alo currently plays basketball, football, hockey, soccer, and volleyball. He also has run in many charitable 5k runs. He also golfs, fishes, hunts, and coaches youth sports. He has coached hundreds of kids in nearly every sport. He enjoys teaching children, teens, and adults how to throw or kick a ball, how to swing a bat or golf club, and how to play nearly every sport. He owns a very large indoor sports training facility and always has kids over training.

Languages

Dr. Alo speaks English, Arabic, and Spanish.

Volunteer Work:

2001-2002
Board of Trustees
Mobile Meals of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio.

Youngest member selected to the Board of Directors of Mobile Meals of Toledo. I was only 25 years old at the time and served a one year term. I would have liked to stay longer, but I had to move to Chicago to attend medical school. Mobile Meals is Toledo’s Meals on Wheels and has an annual budget of over $2 million dollars. We held monthly budget and board meetings and had over 800 volunteers and employees to oversee.

2002-2006
Access Health Clinic
Downtown Chicago

Spent countless Thursday nights volunteering at the health clinic providing free care, counseling, and advice to those without insurance throughout my four years of medical school.

1990-present
Has volunteered countless hours organizing and spending time at youth camps, local church groups, civic groups, college groups and clubs, teaching sports, coaching, and spending time with the poor and needy.

Politics:

College
Senator  Student Senate
University of Toledo

Applied for and was appointed by the President of Student Government as a Senator.

College
Presidential Candidate
Student Body University of Toledo

While running for student Government President with Vice-Presidential Candidate Terry Kuhl, was able to garner the second highest voter turnout in University of Toledo history, with 15.9% of the student population voting. Highest turnout in over 50 years. No other election even garnered a 4% turnout.

2000-2001
Speech Writer, Political Strategist
Dr. Dwight Bryan for Congress Campaign

Volunteered on the staff of Dr. Dwight Bryan D.O. who was running for congress for Ohio’s 9th Congressional district. We were up against a 20 year congressional veteran, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur. Dwight Bryan was well received by crowds at the various functions we attended and drew a lot more applause and standing ovations than his competition. A lot of times this shocked us. He was eventually defeated by a large margin. The Ohio Republican party decided not to give us financial support.

2001-2002
Fundraiser, Political Strategist
Allen Roy for State Representative Campaign

Worked on the Allen Roy for State Representative campaign very closely. Strategized for mail drops, neighborhood walk-throughs, mailers, talking points, and fundraising events. Former White House Chief of Staff, John Sununu attended one of our fund raisers and we were able to raise a significant amount of money.

2001-2002
Fundraiser, Political Strategist
Maggie Thurber for County Commissioner Campaign

In an all Democrat labor town, we were able to catapult Maggie Thurber, a Republican, to the county commissioners seat. This was a huge win for the Republican party and was very difficult to accomplish. It was a close race. In a post-September 11, 2001 world, where Muslims were considered “bad guys” by many, Maggie routinely had Muslim women at her side and Muslims carrying her posters. She was at the Mosque almost every weekend and attended all kinds of social functions. During our University of Toledo Rockets, football homecoming, she was flanked by two Muslim women, fully dressed in Muslim outfits, on her convertible, riding around distributing candy to the crowds on the parade route. She was an amazing woman, she took risks that most politicians would have avoided in a post-911 world. It sure paid off.

2001-2002
Public Relations Crisis Consultant
Local Charity Group, Toledo, Ohio.

I can not disclose the group that I worked for because the information was sensitive, however it was a large charity organization based in Toledo, Ohio. I did some consulting work and trained the board of directors and employees on how to effectively handle a crisis situation, should it get out of hand and the media start asking questions. A minor incident with major political ramifications happened at this institution involving theft and I was consulted to help with the possible media response and effectively containing the problem. The problem resolved without any issues.

2002-2006
Presidential Candidate
Student Body Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine

Every year that Dr. Alo was in medical school, he ran for student body president. He was narrowly defeated each time. Sometimes, so narrowly that they had to have multiple recounts to verify the results. One of the years, he lost by two votes. The class size was about 170 students.

1988-present
Presidential Campaign
United States Government

Ever since I received a response to a letter I sent Vice-President George Bush Sr. while President Reagan was in office, I have worked, volunteered, manned phone banks, envelop-stuffed, and campaigned for Republican Presidential candidates. The first campaign I worked for was George Bush Sr. He may have not known I was working for him, but I knew I was. Since then, I have had more official roles always starting out supporting Forbes for President, because as an economist, I like his flat tax ideas, then end up working for the official nominee whether that be Dole, Bush Jr. In fact, I have every presidential debate since 1998 on VHS tape. I love going back and watching history in the making. I am a huge presidential election buff.
